This Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) Trainer is designed to demonstrate the theory and operational characteristics of today’s modern braking systems, which feature computer-controlled anti-locking or skid-control systems. The trainer consists of four-wheel hydraulic brake assemblies & drive motor with variable speed controller. It also includes wheel speed sensor, hydraulic actuator assembly & electronic control unit. The trainer can simulate an operation of ABS system at different speeds.

Electronic/Electrical Fault Insertion System:
• Multiple electronic fault insertion system: This system should allow for up to 10 faults to be inserted at any one time. Faults can be inserted individually or in groups.
• Electronic Fault Panel: Faults indicated by LEDs. When the fault is electronically activated a corresponding LED will illuminate showing the fault is active.
• Student Testing Mode: The LED fault indication display can be deactivated so that the faults can be active but the display is switched off.
• Electronic Fault Reset Button: The LED control should have a fault-reset button that will clear and reset the system back to normal.
• Test Points: The trainer has short circuit protected test points that allow the student to take measurements during the troubleshooting exercises.

The trainer consists of a standard Automatic Air conditioning system used in Automobiles. It consists of the HVAC unit; the compressor is driven by an electric motor. (In automobiles, the engine drives the compressor.) The motor power is transferred to the compressor through the electric clutch.The Control Panel consists of the control knob for selection of Air conditioning mode, temperature controller. The actuators of HVAC unit are controlled by this control panel. A hot liquid tank is used to generate hot water for heating coil & supplied by a magnetic pump which can handle hot liquids. (In automobiles, heating is provided by Engine coolant from radiator). To power the automotive electric system, a battery is included with the trainer. A separate battery charger is used to charge the battery for experimentation.
